"Reigntastic" (reigntastic)

Although rally racing has always been hard to come by in the US (for viewing, at least), I always found myself enchanted by the Celica. It had a fairly dominant reign (through some altogether questionable means), but the engineers on the team put it in a great position to win.
What's your favorite?

Subaru Legacy, and while it didn't win any championships, it was the car that really introduced Subaru to rally. It's also something cool about rallying a car that is a lot bigger than the competition, or unusal in other ways.. Like the Peugeot 307 CC WRC:
I remember when the car was new and Markus Grönholm was asked what he knew about it. "It's a cabriolet", he said.. Of course, it wasn't.

I... I can't choose! There's too much awesome... I tried and came up with a list of about 30 cars - the only narrowing down I could do was to narrow down the many Lancer Evos. :(

Ur-Quattro.
Lancer Evolution.
911s/959s in rally trim.
Nope, no, I can't even come close to picking a favorite. Ever.

I have to cheat, because I have two, but one's for tarmac rally and one's for all-terrain:
Tarmac:
Lancia Stratos: Just look at it!
Mixed Terrain:
Audi Sport Quattro S1: Just listen to it!
Btw, both cars are available in Forza 4 and are amazingly good fun.
The Audi will kill you unless you try and kill it back. It will understeer you into oblivion until you adapt to it and learn that gobs and gobs of oppo and a bootfull of throttle really is the best way to get this car around a corner. But if you manage to match savagery with savagery, it's a hell of an exhilarating car to drive:
The Stratos, on the other hand, is the exact opposite; it requires finesse and restraint to keep it reigned in and pointing straight. It loves to be sideways, even when you'd rather it not be. Instead of fighting it, you have to just carry an uncomfortable amount of speed into every corner and allow it to rotate and slide the back end out a little with every corner exit. Otherwise, it'll snap back around on you and point you somewhere in the vicinity of oncoming traffic. However, if you can manage to tame it and build that level of symbiotic harmony, it is one hell of a fine-handling machine that can hold its own against much more powerful beasts. In fact, it completely obliterated the sub-3.0 liter class in Group J's Trans-Am series, and often nabbed a podium finish overall, beating out many of the big-block boys, as can be seen here where myself (in the yellow Stratos) and Corz (in the Camaro) duke it out during the first lap of one of the races:
My view:
BTW, I proceeded to win that race with an 8-second lead. ;-P

I absolutely love driving the Quattro in Dirt, but I don't currently have an Xbox for Forza, unfortunately. Pretty much the only reason I'm tempted to get one.
Stratos is gorgeous, no doubt about it. It's what I wish my MR2 was every time I get into it.

Hmmm. *looks around*
"Uhm, it's the rental car, of course."
*ducks* (not really oppo, so I figure I can get away with it.)
